FAQs for Copywriter+

Q1. What type of businesses do you work with in Des Moines? 
A1. I work with a variety of industries but I like to say I work with small business owners who are growing, want to keep going, and need help with their marketing efforts to do that. I tend to work mostly with home services contractors, but if that's not you, I'd still love to chat!

Q2. Do you write for social media?
A2. Short answer: No. Long answer: I used to, but found I was tired of fighting the ever-changing algorithm and having to make my words fit their requirements. So, I decided I wanted to put my best work in a place that's WAY more likely to be seen (websites), and even requested (emails).

Q3. What about Public Relations (PR)? 
A3. Nope. I'll leave that to those who can handle the political correctiveness of it all. 

Q4. Do you offer editing and proofreading services? 
A4. I've been known to help someone out in a pinch, but I don't consider myself an expert. Even copywriters need good editors. 

Q5. Do you help small businesses and non-profits outside of Des Moines?
A5. YES! I'm all about helping my fellow Iowan-owned businesses and organizations succeed with great marketing.

Q6. What about outside of Iowa?
A6. Of course, in fact I've worked with clients on the coasts or across the pond on occasion. I can't promise we'll be able to meet in person, but I will treat you as if you're the business down the street. 

Q7. Do you work with larger organizations?
A7. My main goal with Copywriter
+ is to create great marketing for small businesses to get the exposure they deserve in Des Moines but I would be happy to chat with you and see how I can work with you. 

Q8. What are businesses or organizations you WOULDN'T work with?  
A8. I don't work with anyone who doesn't line up with my values and beliefs. It's not personal but I know that because I wouldn't support or believe the same way they do, I wouldn't produce good marketing. I'm happy to refer you to someone who could help you if we don't line up. 

Q9. Do you have an office I can visit? 
A9. Nope, I've lived in the land of cubicles and the chained-to-your-desk life and I'm much happier being about to work where inspiration sparks.  

Q10. Why don't you have set pricing anywhere? 
A10. I don't have set pricing because most of the projects I work on are customized for the type of marketing you need and your budget. And I don't mean that I will take the entire budget but do my best to work WITHIN that budget. 

Q11. Do you have an hourly rate? 
A11. No and here's why: restricting a project to an hourly rate undervalues the marketing project itself. I want to provide you the best work so by not having to track hours I'm able to focus on the project and not an hourly restriction.  

Q12. Do you drink coffee? 
A12. Are pandas black, white, and endangered? (Fun Fact: my favorite animal). And not necessary fluffy coffee, but at least some cream and sugar.

Q13. Besides copywriting, what else do you love to do? 
A13. Cook - I love finding new recipes to try! Have a favorite?

Q14. What's your favorite thing to do in Des Moines? 
A14. I'm an avid
Iowa State Fair goer. I've gone almost every year for as long as I've been alive. I never get tired of the people watching and food eating!
